What’s happening?

Sandwell Council are undertaking works to construct a new bus interchange and improve the public realm in Market Place in the town centre of Blackheath. The works started in June and have progressed well.

Whilst works takes place, there may be changes to bus stops and routes in Blackheath town centre.

You may experience disruption to your journey.

Please plan ahead and  remember to check your journey regularly

Where are these works happening?

From Monday 20 October to Friday 31 October 2025 overnight road closures will be in place in Black Heath town centre from 7pm and 6am.

Some bus services will be diverted and stops changed.
You will be able to get to where you need to go but please allow more time for your journey.

From Sunday 2 November 2025, the new town centre bus interchange will be complete and all new bus stops and shelters will be in place.

Travel tips

You will still be able to get to where you need to go, but consider the following:

If you usually get on or off your bus on Halesowen Street in Blackheath town centre. Your bus route is still operating and you are still be able to get it, close to where you usually do. However, the stop you need to get on and off at may have changed.
Your bus stop may have changed so plan ahead. Check your journey in both directions of travel.
Familiarise yourself with any changes to your stop. Another route/stop might suit your destination better.
