Ends: Ongoing

Last updated: 10 June 2025

What’s happening?

A programme of investment in the borough of Dudley began in 2019.

A number of key projects have already completed in Dudley town centre and further projects are planned over the next few years with construction for some developments running alongside each other.

Dudley Bus Station Closure

What's Happening?

Dudley Interchange is undergoing a significant transformation to emerge as a modern, efficient, and sustainable transport hub. This redevelopment aims to provide an improved commuter experience, enhanced station efficiency, and better accessibility for everyone.

  • Dudley Bus Station is now closed. All services have transferred to other stops within the town centre on Tower Street, Ednam Road and Priory Road
  • Coach operators have relocated to Castle Gate Island, Tipton Road.  Coach services will continue to operate as normal.

Changes Effective Saturday 13 July 2024:

To improve the traffic flow and bus operation there will be changes to the one-way system in Dudley town centre:

  • One-way operation on New Street from Priory Street to Tower Street, following it on the Priory Road from Ednam Road to Priory Street heading past the front entrance of Dudley Council House.
  • One-way operation on Tower Street from New Street to Stone Street. The section currently being used by buses will remain one-way from New Street to The Broadway. Stone Street will be one-way from Tower Street to Priory Street, through Stone Street Square.
  • Priory Street will remain one-way from Priory Road to Wolverhampton Street.

Temporary Bus Stops and Services:

Temporary bus stops will be erected near the current station during the redevelopment. For details on specific services and the project, please visit DudleyInterchange.commonplace.is.
