Alongside our annual bus network reviews, we work closely with operators year-round to monitor services and make improvements. To keep the network running efficiently, operators may make minor changes throughout the year.
These changes must be registered with us six weeks in advance, though urgent updates can happen with less notice. Below is a list of changes we’re aware of.
We aim to update online timetables, journey planners, and at-stop information before changes take effect, but this isn’t always possible. Please check your journey before you travel to ensure you have the latest information.
Ticketing
Some bus routes will change operator.
nBus is now the only ticket for bus travel and can be used on any operator in the West Midlands.
Major service changes
17/17A Birmingham – Chelmsley Wood/Birmingham Airport
- Service 17A will continue to operate largely as it does currently, except for Sunday services, which will be reduced from every 30 minutes to every 40 minutes.
- Most Service 17 journeys will terminate at Marston Green Station, with the current extension to Chelmsley Wood being withdrawn. Chelmsley Wood will continue to benefit from frequent direct links via Service 72, which will continue to provide connections between the two areas.

20B Coventry - Longford via Foleshill Road
- Service 20B is withdrawn at the end of service on Saturday 31st October 2026. This service will partially be replaced by new service 22A.
- Passengers in Woodshires Road, Wilsons Lane, and Longford Novotel can access the replacement 22A service on Oban Road or alternative service 20 and 148 on Bedworth Road.
22A Coventry - Longford via Arena Shopping Park
- A new service linking Coventry City Centre and Oban Road via Hillfields, Stoke Heath, Courthouse Green, Little Heath and Arena Retail Park. Beyond the present Little Heath terminus of the 22, the service extends via Old Church Road, Foleshill Road, Arena Shopping Park, Longford Road and Oban Road to the Woodshires Road turning circle.
Buses will run up to every 30 minutes Monday-Saturday daytimes.

- Additional journeys will be added between Wolverhampton and Bilston during evenings and on Sundays to replace current Diamond service 26A
26A Wolverhampton - Bilston via Goldthorn Park
- This evenings and Sunday only service is withdrawn at the end of service on Saturday 31st October 2026. A replacement will be provided with new journeys on the Chaserider service 25.
27A Wolverhampton - Dudley via Sedgley, Gornal Wood
- Minor re-route around the Upper Villiers Street road closure following consultation with City of Wolverhampton Council, to better serve residents in this area. Buses will now operate along Bromley Street, Lower Villiers Street and Drayton Street in both directions.

44 West Bromwich - Harvils Hawthorne Circular
- This service will have a new timetable to improve reliability. During Monday-Saturday daytimes, the service will now run up to every 20 minutes.

- Slight changes to the Monday-Friday timetable during peak periods to improve punctuality and reliability of the service.

66 Birmingham - Sutton Coldfield via Erdington
- New 66A service will operate between Birmingham, the Fort, Minworth Asda and Peddimore Amazon replacing services 64 and X64 giving an increased frequency to Peddimore of every 30 minutes and direct links between Birmingham city centre and the Fort Shopping Park.
71 Sutton Coldfield - Chelmsley Wood via Castle Vale
- Small changes to Sunday timetable to improve reliability.

96 Chelmsley Wood - Kingstanding via Erdington
- This service will terminate at Chelmsley Wood and will no longer continue to Birmingham Airport or the NEC. Passengers wishing to travel onwards to Birmingham Airport or the NEC should change to the 97A service at Chelmsley Wood.
- There is a change of route in Castle Bromwich where the service will now operate via Heath Way, Shard End Cresent, Old Croft Lane, and Brownfield Road in both directions.

64/X64 Birmingham - Amazon Peddimore via Erdington
This service will be withdrawn.
- It will be partially replaced by 66A service. For passengers travelling from Erdington to Peddimore they will need to get either service 66 from Erdington to Star City, or service 96 from Erdington to the Fort, to connect with service 66A. Bromford Estate will not be served by service 66A

This school service has been extended from Stafford Road Three Tuns to Stafford Road Bee Lane (Vine Island), following a request from Compton Park schools, to assist students who live in the area.
