Latest works

Work is progressing well on the Interchange with the completion of a low maintenance drought-resistant sedum roof. The eco-friendly roof supports de-carbonisation efforts along with solar panels. This will help power the building with clean renewable energy reducing environmental impact and operating costs.
Canopy lighting, which will ensure the safety and visibility for passengers, has started to be installed. And the commissioning of new lifts are underway making the interchange accessible for everyone.
Groundworks continue to lay the base for paving around the station edge. Tree pits have been excavated with soil ready for planting to create a safer, more welcoming environment to visit and travel through.

These milestones represent significant progress towards a modern, accessible and environmentally-friendly integrated transport hub that will benefit the entire community.
As well highlighting these milestones at Dudley Interchange, the upcoming arrival of trams through Dudley Town Centre as part of the testing and commissioning phase, demonstrates a forward look at how the integrated transport system is taking shape.
Taylor Woodrow is the main contractor for the project and construction has been underway since summer 2025. The interchange is set to open and be used by passengers in 2026.
